Spirit of Revival

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

Recently the Lord has been moving on my heart with a deep cry for a sovereign move of His Spirit. This type of move would be labeled a revival by many in terms of what we have seen in the past. This move of God would go far beyond the Sunday morning experience and launch into a deep place of seeking and finding Christ. There must be more! This cry of my heart is resonating day and night for the last month or so. Last night I had a visitation of God’s Spirit in which the cry for revival became overwhelmingly tangible. The Spirit of God began to speak to me about the “undercurrent” of revival that separates a sovereign outpouring from business as usual in the church (don’t get me wrong we need business as usual). To better articulate what the Lord showed me and how my heart is longing for this new move, I’ve written a poem to better express things. Allow these words to resonate in your heart as they did mine and hopefully draw you into the waters of hunger for MORE of GOD!!!

The intangible is obvious
The fruit instantaneous
The world is oblivious
While sinner repents of sin and lascivious

Many would come to repent
Others to scorn and lament
The coming of the One who was sent
To inhabit every soul as an earthly tent

Long nights and short days
Hours and hours the band plays
No one can really know the ways
But prostate at altar the sinner lays

The undercurrent is indescribable
The atmosphere undeniable
The feeling each day is so reliable
For the hearts of men are sovereignly pliable

Why would many come from afar?
They gather once again like the blowing shofar
Winds of change have began to blow
Whispers of a move that only Spirit could show

What need we have for revival’s reach
Something that cannot from pulpit teach
Only tasting in person will set men free
As righteousness fill the hungry and thirsty

Cry out afresh to the God of Elijah
Come visit us with might and power again
Make an altar of tears to the great Jehovah
Lord, come deliver us from all of our sin

The Valley, A Poem

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

Whatever goes up must come down
Whenever there’s high there must be low
For every smile there’s always a frown
For every good, the bad takes a blow

The moments on high keep life worth living
But reality of pursuit can be unforgiving
To find the valley more than not
Will force tissue to continually blot

While mountaintop will bring exhilaration
The valley will force deep reflection
When things go right why stop to pause
But things gone wrong make easy the flaws

The mountain, excitement it brings
In valley you find life’s subtle springs
The art of refreshing one’s soul
With no one around to hold and cajole

Oh valley how we easily disdain
The hurt, disappointment and pain
Don’t stop your work now or refrain
The bitter food you serve will forever train

My soul wishes to pass over with haste
To stay top the world with the sun on my face
But God in His wisdom has put you in place
That wisdom and faith would be said of my case

Oh valley don’t come so often to me
When I see you ahead my tendency flee
Even out the high place your job to be
Done all to well with your sweet misery

This poem dedicated to those walking through the valley. Be encouraged my friend. Psa. 23:4

Poetry

Psalm 45:1 Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.
For some time the Lord has stirred my heart with beautiful words. These words have been expressed through the beautiful canvas of poetry. Until now you have heard a lot of prose from me but never any poetry. In the late days my passion and inspiration for poetry has really grown and some of the works I have written are things that I feel should be shared with everyone. Of course there are things that are private and meant for me and those close, but so many need hope and inspiration in this hour I feel like now is the time to begin sharing some of these things. Today I will start by posting a poem I wrote entitled “Recession.” This poem was inspired by the times we live in and the economic talk of the day. Being a prophetic person it is always of interest to me to know the “times and seasons” like the men of Issachar. Be blessed by this poem and look for others in the days to come.

Recession

When exactly did recess turn sour?
Most remember it as their favorite hour

How did a name like recession
End up stirring up so much reflection?

What exactly does it mean?
Do we need to ask professor or dean?

Recession is the time or season
Things seem to be hard for no reason

What starts a season of such sort?
Is it possible to prevent or abort?

What gave recession its power?
Who said recession it’s your hour?

Why did you come to stalk and prey
Why couldn’t we keep you at bay?

Is there any forewarning to your advance?
Do you cross the Pacific or begin in France?

Stay away you economic bully
Never we want to feel you fully

Stop tearing away at our precious money
The green we esteem as higher than honey
The kind of necessity that fills our tummy

The root of your hard felt sting
Was never begun by buying a ring

No the source of your silent reign
Will always begin when we’re hopelessly vain
