Ministry Today Article

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

The July\Aug issue of Ministry Today features 2 articles that I believe are very exciting. I was asked to write one of the feature articles of this issue and 220 was profiled along with 4 other awesome youth min from around the nation for the cover article. Very positive! The message and story of what God is doing here is starting to get national attention and I thank God for it! All of our hard work and years of faithfulness to produce something the Lord Jesus would be proud of is starting to pay off.
It is my conviction and desire that the Lord would use 220 as a model of youth ministry birthed in the Spirit of God and built upon the basic tenants of the Gospel that has rocked the known world for 2000 years. Somehow youth pastors and young people need to see something that causes them to dream big and see all things as possible with God.
I encourage you to go out and buy and copy or the magazine or look up online at ministrytoday.com and look for the cover article named Youth Gone Wild and the article I wrote called You Want To Start a Revolution? They will both bless you.

I’m excited.

It’s finally here! The thing that the whole world has been waiting for, the ability to hear from me on a daily basis, yea right!

If no one else is excited I know that I, for one, am. It has been a while in the works but has now, (thanks to my lovely wife), become a reality.

My first thought for the day is on the subject of having the heart of a champion. After watching the Suns get gipped in the NBA playoffs it reinforces to me that no matter who you are and what you do that you will always face obstacles to realizing your dreams that you did not anticipate. Maybe you don’t know what happened but the details are not important. The bottom line is this: if you have the heart of a champion you will expect unfairness and every other possible obstacle to come against you and yet in some way you find the heart to prevail. As bad as I hate to admit it, the Suns just didn’t have the heart of a champion when it counted, will you?
