What if???

Mark 13:35– You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the Master of the household will return–in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak. Don’t let Him find you sleeping when He arrives without warning. I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for Him!!!
In a day where there are so many things to be worried about (like jobs, cars, global war, economic hardships) there is something that should be of far greater concern to us as believers and of such gravity it is impossible to articulate for those who are not, the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ!
What if the Lord Jesus returns tonight? What if it were this year? What if 2010-2020 was the last decade of the dispensation of the Church as we know it? Some would foolishly answer, Who cares? I don’t know about you but I sure do! Like a classroom full of students that have been temporarily left by their teacher, we the church have been put on “honor code” and left to finish the assignment of the Teacher (which is the Great Commission).
Many people who call themselves Christians would change the way they relate to the Lord Jesus if they knew He were about to come. They would seek His will, read His Word, pray without ceasing… you know, all those things we are supposed to do according to the Word of God that we don’t because we really don’t think He will come in our lifetime?
As for evangelism, I know personally that my emphasis on being a “fisher of men” would shift drastically if I knew that His return was anywhere close to becoming a reality. Would you not at least call and plead with your loved ones to reconsider their position? Would you not cry and wail in desperation before a gracious God to save everyone you know who is not sure of their salvation? What if?
What if is a question that we should ask ourselves daily and sometimes hourly. There should never be room for complacency and compromise. The day is drawing near and the time is shorter than you can imagine. I would be a fool to say I know the exact moment of His return but I tell you with all that is within me I feel it is close as in 20 years or less. For those of you confused or interested in knowing more about this topic please see 2 Pet. 3 and marvel at the mercy of God. What if? Let it ring in your ears.
2 Pet. 3:9-The Lord really isn’t being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

Word & Prayer Explosion

Friday, January 9th, 2009

There is no greater time of year to seek the Lord than the beginning. It is a Biblical principal to give God the first and the best. Why not the first of the year? Many believers have taken up this great tradition and found tremendous closeness to the Lord Jesus and supernatural clarity and strength for the year to come.
This year the Lord laid it on my heart to do 2 things. The first thing was to lead 3 weeks of revival prayer every evening from 6 to 7pm (or whenever if time allows). This first week has really been special as the Spirit of God has drawn us closer into His presence and enraptured us in a blanket of fresh surrender to His divine will and purpose. I can’t wait to see how this nightly pressing into more of Him will crescendo over the next 2 weeks!
The second thing that the Lord showed me to emphasize and challenge our 220 leadership to one hour of prayer (corporate) and one hour of reading the Word (private). A majority of our 220 leadership has taken on this challenge and are reading through the NT in these 21 days as an act of zeal for the Word and hunger for more supernatural revelation in this year.
There is nothing more exciting to me than to see a herd of fired up young people trying to gorge themselves with the pure Word of God
and pressing nightly into the awesome presence of the Master. This is going to be a great year and I encourage you to press into the things of God right now like never before. Don’t be caught without the extra oil of His presence when you need it most (and it is too late to go on a 21 day fast!).
Matt. 25:1-13 So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.
