Wow! this last week has been a busy one and the next 2 aren’t slowing down. Wed. night I flew over with my dear mother to San Antonio, Tx to see a top surgeon about the situation with my hand and arm. As many of you remember I was in the midst of dealing with that last year when my darling wife was diagnosed with cancer in June. Well, long story short, the time has come to deal with all of that and God has given me favor with this surgeon that Doc Crandall found for me. He does most of the surgeries on the Iraq soldiers that have had hand injuries and will be attempting, in Jesus name, to put my arm back together in a way that will fix 2 basic problems, circulation and access for dialysis.
Mom and I were there for 2 days and spent most all day Thur and Fri in the hospital running tests. Fri was a long day as we were at hospital for 6 and didn’t leave till 1 and then flew out at 3 and I had a procedure at 11:30! It was crazy! Somewhere in all that we were able to go to the Riverwalk for a great Mexican meal (which I love) and hang out with my good friend Warren Beemer. (Warren and about 20 kids met us at the airport with signs on Wed. night around midnight and it was very touching).
The game plan as of now is to wait until after the 2 conf. are over in July and then go back for an operation. Please be in prayer with me that as the doctors assimilate all the info from this week that the Lord will give them wisdom to know exactly what needs to be done. Pray that they will be able to do much more minor surgery than first anticipated and that the Lord will be working with them to guide them in all that they do. Thank you dear friends and prayer warriors for standing with me in all my battles. I guess I am working on competing with Paul’s list of woes in 2 Cor. 11!
