update: To view the memorial service of Amy Hart Stockstill, click here
It would be such a blessing if all of you who have been standing with us could join in for the celebration of Amy’s homegoing. For those of you here in the area and that can travel here we will be having a viewing from 10 to 12 on Thur. morning with a memorial service to follow at noon. For those not able to be here we will be streaming the service live on bethany.com and 220power.com. Please join in with us in honoring the most incredible woman I have ever known. Amy, darling, I love you!!!
We are asking instead of flowers that people stirred to participate would give a donation to the Global 12 Project and give to the planting of churches worldwide. This was our heart and will give great honor to God and to dearest Amy. (details will be posted on the web as well)
For those of you wondering how I am doing I would like to say that the peace of God has been overwhelming. While the shock and suddenness is hard to even comprehend right now God has poured out His unmerited grace and mercy on me. Yes, many tears have been shed in the grieving process but, in the end, Jesus is still on the throne and I honor him as his bondslave. I hold nothing back!
Rom. 1:1- This letter is from Paul, Jesus Christ’s slave, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent to preach His Good News.
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as are crushed in spirit”. -Psalm 34:18
We’re proud of you, Pastor Joel, and of what God is going to do through all of this. What a great example you are. God bless you tremendously.
Pastor Joel, My family, church group, and myself are lifting you and your family up in prayer. God bless you awesome Man of God.
Sometimes we wonder…”God what are you doing” “God what is your plan”……we have to realize as I’m sure you and family have, that God’s plan is higher than ours, He knows why certain things happen. We just have to trust God to help us through the day. I know He will help you all. My heart goes out to you so much. I’ve never felt the hurt you and your family are feeling, but I can just imagine how bad it must be. The only thing that would hold me together is God. And I know He is holding you all together. Take Care!!!! My prayers are with you!!!!!!
As a member of River of Life Church in Hattiesburg, MS…just wanted to let you know our pastor led us in special prayer last night for your family. My heart truly and sincerely aches for you yet rejoices for your dear wife. Oh how jealous I am of her! She is in heaven with my King right now!!!! Praise God!
Pastor Joel, Stockstill family and Hart family,
May the peace of God rule your hearts and minds today. Praying that the presence of Jesus is more real to you than ever before. May He wrap each of you in His mighty love. We are praying for each of you, mourning with you and rejoicing with you that beautiful Amy is now with Jesus and is healed! Pastor Joel, may the amazing love you shared with your dear Amy carry through into the awesome ministry God has given you and that even MORE souls be won for the kingdom. We love you!

Praise be to our Lord, our God our Saviour, who daily bears our burdens. Psalm 68:10
How appropriate that in the one year reading today is the very verse that I have prayed continually over you and your families.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.. Psalm 34:18
God is holding all of you in the shadow of his wings. I pray for your heart and body to be strengthened by this season of your life. I am sure our most wonderful Father brought you such a gift to help you even more understand the love Christ has for the church. What a gift!
For those that have struggled in understanding how this could happen to such a young and mighty daughter of God. I hope this will help ease your mind. I am sure Jesus’ disciples prayed for him to survive his sentence on the cross. Where would we be if that prayer would have been answered? Our ultimate prayer, our ultimate heart’s desire, like Jesus’, is for God’s will to be done in every situation. The things that Amy Stockstill planted in peoples lives are still alive and blooming, and will change generations’ destinies for eternity. That is God’s will eternal harvesting, and I am sure the Father told her well done, my good and faithful servant. Her life was and will always be victorious!
Pastor Stockstill and Family,
We are keeping all of you in prayer. We pray that the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you in your time of sorrow. What a joy it is to serve an awesome God who keeps us in perfect peace.
To the Hart and Stockstill Family,
We were stunned by the news initially because we expected God to work the miracle “our way” – show His power through Amy’s complete healing. But Heaven must be some kind of awesome because Amy saw a glimpse and all the prayers and love here could not surpass what she saw there.
We serve a good and powerful God who is able to do all things and is worthy of all glory and all praise.
We love all of you, we thank God for all of you and we are blessed to be led by such an incredible family.
We will truly miss Mrs. Amy Elizabeth Stockstill and her amazing smile as she greeted those who exited the sanctuary.

Joel,
We watched the memorial service today. What a wonderful woman of God Amy was and truly continues to be. I can see how and why God knit the two of you together. She did more in her short life than most people could hope to do in 100 years. What a tremendous testimony she has left behind and takes to the throne. You’re so right, “The half has yet been told.”
I have tremendous respect for you and your family.
We continue to lift you, your family, and Bethany up in prayer. We’re standing with you.
Blessings
Daniel
I just wanted to say that me and family are praying for you right now. you dont know me and I dont know you but my husband knew your wife growing up. Mrs lilly and my in laws are friends. We have been praying since the beginning of her illness. Thank you for broadcasting her funeral so that we could be a part of it. It was beautiful. Your wife was a beautiful woman and the presence of God in her shown in her face. I regret not knowing her personally for I can tell she would have been a wonderful friend to have. May God keep you and I pray that you will feel the prayers we are praying over you.
Hi Pastor Joel,
I don’t know you or your beautiful wife, or have never been at your church but have watched on the web and my teenage daughter has been to 2 youth conferences there. My heart goes out to you and your family. I am encouraged at just watching how you deal with such a lost I cannot comprehend why things like this happen to good people who are after Gods own heart. You and your family are in our prayers.

Watching Pastor Amy’s service today greatly moved me. I didn’t expect her passing to affect me the way that is has.
Going back over things of my life and looking at daily routines, I find myself now thinking, I need to become more like Jesus and less like myself. I don’t want to get to heaven and find out I missed the mark and didn’t achieve what God has called me to do.
Amy will be greatly missed by thousands, but her legacy carries on. As a fellow believer in Christ, I think we should all strive to do as Joel said, “make you proud.” We fought a good fight, we ran the race, but in the end, God’s ultimate will be done.
Pastor Joel I love you, greatly respect you. You have impacted my life in ways that can never be explained. I stand with you like many others and say we’re proud of you. We got your back.
God bless.
Joel,
I just want you to know that I am so incredibly saddened by the loss of your wife, I was in complete shock in front of my computer as I discovered the news today here at the church office, I am also a Youth Pastor here in West Haven, CT. Bro you have no idea how much your ministry has inspired and encouraged me in my ministry over the years, your faith especially through this time has been inspiring to say the least, your a true man of God. I am praying for you and your family through this time my friend. What is death but ultimate healing, Your wife is now with Jesus in perfect health, peace, and joy! Be strong, God Bless!
Cliff
We Love you Joel, words dont seem enough, we are praying for you.
To the Stockstill family,
I am not a Christian and do not belong to a church but I believe in a God. I do, however have tremendous respect for you and hope that your beliefs and Amy’s memory will carry you through the rough times. Family is everything, even more so in a time such as this. Though I am nonchristian, something prompted me to write to you. Joel, maybe it was the love for each other I saw when I looked at the picture of you and Amy together. It showed. Lean on your beliefs, your family and the memory of Amy and you will get through this unimaginable pain. Cling to those memories and she’ll be with you. Take care.
Joel,
MVCA in Utah is praying for you.

I wish I could have been with you today or at least able to watch the podcast. However, you and all of Amy’s loved ones are in my prayers.
dear pastor joel,
i just want to encourage you to keep your eyes on the lord. the world loss such a precious gift sent from heaven. She was such a blessing to all who knew her. At least we know where she is and what she feels like. I am so blessed to have you as a pastor and you mean the world to me. i know you are going through a hard time and that is why you are in my prayers! Sister Amy was only able to bless the world for a short period of time, but she did more than a 100 year old woman could do and i addmirer that about her and can’t wait to see her agine. (isaiah 41:1-14) the Lord gave me this scriptuer for you. i know i already told you after church but i want to tell you agine and when you get time would you read it for me. I pray for peace that passes all understandings to come over you and that it would wrap you up like a blanket and comfort you. Lord i ask that you would mend his broken heart and give him your strenght to go through this hard time and i thank you for bringing forth a huge amount of teens to him so he can teach them to rise up and become a mighty warrior for you. I ask that you would help this family through this hard time. I thank you for letting this be a growing period for the church. I love you so much and I will keep you in my prayers!!!!!
love,
Victoria,Bergeron
Joel,
What a touching tribute to a wonderful Woman of God!
It fired me up and has put a new passion inside of me.
I will be lifting you and the entire family up in prayer. The enemy will regret this!!! He only thinks he has won.
Keep standing firm

We watched the service today. We’d like you to know we’ve never looked up to somebody like we look up to you. Amy will always be remembered as a testimony of running the race for Christ with diligence and passion. We admire you and hold you dear to our hearts. You inspire us and because of your testimony we will never be the same. You have impacted not only 220 but every youth group that has come in contact with your ministry. The eternal perspective has been refreshed in our lives because of you. Thank you for living for God and loving Him like you do. We are ready to run even stronger than before. This is the beginning of a great harvest! Nothing we do for God is in vain. We will see many souls come to the kingdom because of Amy’s life. Thank you for teaching us the real meaning of the cross. We are backing you up in our prayers. With much love.
We pray that Our Heavenly Father will comfort the entire Stockstill family during this difficult time. Although we cannot explain why things happen as they sometimes do, we know that God is sovereign and Amy’s purpose on earth was fulfilled.
Joel, I don’t know if you remember me but I am a dialysis nurse that knew you from J.H. Lee a few years ago. I have family that attends your church and told me about your wife, and I wanted to tell you that you are in my prayers and I am so sorry for your loss.

Joel,
Watched the service today from Boulder, Colorado. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Again, I used to be under the leadership of Pastor Randy Goudeau when he was at Harvest in Hammond, LA. The annoting of God is upon you. I just wanted to let you know your words today pushed me over the edge to a reckless abadonment for God. I have been on the fence for a while now, but from here on out I will live my life to give God 100% of glory. Today I rededicated my call to ministry. God has great plans for me and my wife and you and Amy have pushed that to another level. I appreciate everything you do. Please let me know if there is anything we can do. If you have the time, please contact me at 303-875-6057, I would love to be able to share some more of how you and Amy have transformed our life in the past week.
Joel,
Just a note to say that we love you and that our prayers are with you. You are blessed to be surrounded by so many people who love you. Take care of yourself brother.

Joel, you blow my mind. I watched you speak at the service this afternoon, and I stood back, utterly amazed at the peace and maturity that you maintain. You…are incredible. And may God continue to drench you in His grace and peace.
Love you dearly as a brother,

dear pastor joel,
we have been praying for you, for your family and your church constantly. i want you to know that we are determined to partner with you in making hell pay like never before! we are determined to rob hell of every soul possible…the enemy will know that we are unmoved and unwavering in our commitment to Jesus Christ, even in the seasons where understanding evades our finite minds. we refuse to lean on our own understanding. victory is ours – and we are with you all the way…
we love you, we’re praying, we’re winning souls and making disciples in the nations of africa… death has lost it’s sting as amy’s passing into her eternal reward has only served to fuel the fire in our hearts to see the enemy defeated and the kingdom filled with sons and daughters!
together in the victory,
rebekah matheny
Dear Pastor Joel, what a celebration of Amy’s wonderful life was yesterday! I came expecting God to move in a Mighty way, and He did, in His way and purpose. I choose to Praise and Worship Him in the Midst… I was reminded today of the three Hebrew children, when they were before the king, to be thrown in the fire. They told the king that they knew their God was able to rescue them, but even if He did not, they still would worship and obey only God. My prayers are with you and all of the family, who Amy loved so much! With our love, Jasmine and Terry
Deuteronomy 33:27″The Eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the Everlasting arms; and He shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;and shall say, Destroy them.”
Pastor Joel,
I tried and wanted to be with you and the Bethany family at the memorial service, but was not able to. However, myself with the other New Beginnings Healing Center interns (Pastor Jonathan Miller) came together at Pastor Becki’s house to share and what the service online. Our hearts are with you for we are where we are because of the mentoring and leadership outpouring of yourself and Pastor Amy. Pastor Amy was such a model for all the girls. We, the 2nd year interns from last year would say, “We need to find our Pastor Amy.” She was such an amazing leader and wife that us guys are looking for a wife with that exact personality and leadership ability. Thank you for everything you have done in my life Pastor Joel.
Love and God bless
Brian Rivera
Pastor Joel,
My prayers continue to be with you and your family, as before… waiting on His healing hands to cover you. I thank God for the wonderful testimony and ministry Pastor Amy had by your side. Her mark on this earth will last forever.

Joel,
Just a word of confirmation to what your father said from 2 Samuel yesterday. As I thought about your loss Wednesday I was repeatedly reminded of this passage by the Lord. I believe it is a word for you. The memorial was just as it should be and it is time to rise out of the dust and get on with your destiny. It will shock bystanders, as David’s behavior did, but you know and understand the truth of the dead burying the dead and you, having the great hope of resurrection, must be about the Father’s business. So now you are right to rise up, clean up, dress up, go up, and eat up. It’s all up from here.
Dear Pastor Joel:
I watched the memorial service for Pastor Amy yesterday and I praise God for You and your family. What an awesome example and inspiration you are as a Godly man. I am sure that Amy was greatly blessed to have a husband like you by her side. Please know that me and my church are covering you and yours in prayer. May the peace and Joy of the Lord fill you in every way!. Your testimony has challenged me greatly to give the best in every area of my life to The Lord And to live under the power and the revelation of the cross. You and your family and ministry are a great blessing to the body of Christ and to this nation. With love and admiration Natalia.
