3 years and counting…

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Wow! I can’t believe that it has been 3 years since my lovely bride and I got married in ST. Thomas, VI. The biggest decision of my life other than Jesus has proven to be the most incredible thing imaginable. I truly believe that Amy and I share a rare closeness that, sadly, many will never taste of in their marriage.

Even though the last several months have been the most difficult for us together it has definitely brought us closer than ever. I praise God that He helped me, along with mom and dad lol, to find and get the right bride! This is not easy and requires much waiting and submission. No one likes to wait and no one wants to hear the word NO about someone they really like but this is paramount in finding the right person to spend your life with.

For those of you standing with us, Amy will be going back to Houston tom. morning for round #2 of this new chemo she is on. We are standing for a total miracle and believing that every trip is the LAST! Pray for strength in her body and speedy release from the hospital. We anticipate her coming home on Sat. if all goes well, and it will! Pray for supernatural grace on her and the team that is going over to help take care of her, primarily her mom, sister, and myself.

1 Thess. 1:3-5– Dear brothers and sisters, we always thank God for you, as is right, for we are thankful that your faith if flourishing and you are all growing in love for each other. We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. But God will USE this persecution to show His justice. For He will make you worthy of His Kingdom, for which you are suffering, and in His justice He will punish those that persecute you.

Standing side by side

As we continue to fight this battle with Amy it becomes increasing important that prayer and intercession increase and not decrease. Our spirits are high and faith steadfast in Jesus, the miracle worker, but this is a battle too great for us to fight without Holy Ghost “air-support”. The bombs of spiritual warfare need to be ceaseless and the intercession to the throne of God unstoppable.
The new round of chemo is a higher level of medicine and has greater effect on the body. Amy is in good spirits but her body has been rocked by the side effects of this new round of chemo. Praise to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords who holds this situation in the palm of His mighty hand! Our sight is on heaven, where the perfect will of God is in full manifestation and the homeland of perfect healing resides. I leave you with 2 verses today that have blessed me greatly and will strengthen your faith as well.
Phil. 1:27,30- But whatever happens to me, you must live in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ, as citizens of heaven. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing side by side, fighting together for the Good News. We are in this fight together. You have seen me suffer for Him in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of this great struggle.
Col. 3:1,2- Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits at God’s right hand in the place of honor and power. LET HEAVEN FILL YOUR THOUGHTS. Do not think only about things down here on earth.

Looking into the future

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Last night we received a tremendous word from Jim Hockaday at the Bethany North Healing service. God moved through Jim in a mighty way and many were healed. The main point of his message was that God has been to your future and knows the outcome already. I believe that God has been to my future and already seen the finished work of healing accomplished. I believe that He has already been to Amy’s future and seen her perfect health manifested. God is bigger than our perception of time and He is waiting on someone to trust His power and promise. Today I declare that I do trust that power (that raised Christ from the dead) and I do trust His wonderful promises (for they are yes and amen)!
Amy was released from the hospital yesterday around noon and was able to return home to BR last night. Praise God! She is in a haven of peace and life here at our home. God is strengthening her body by the hour, I believe. She was able to watch both yesterday morning and last night’s services via the live stream sent from North. This greatly encouraged her spirit. Our faith is stronger than ever and expectancy is the norm.
Phil. 1:30- We are in this fight together. You have seen me suffer for Him in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of this great struggle.

All His Good Promises

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

This week as I have been reading the book of Joshua it has really been an encouragement to me. To see all the battles that had to be fought both internally and externally was a reminder that many men and women of God have faced great testing in their pursuit of God’s promise. In the end, this is what we expend our precious faith for night and day, isn’t it? Why if your sick, then you believe His promise to heal. If your broke, you believe He is a provider. If your family is messed up, you trust Him to restore what the enemy has stolen. And maybe your life is perfect (haha), then you still should believe Him to release unto you a mighty harvest of souls. So you see, we are never free from the pursuit of God’s promise in our life.
For those of you who are praying, my wife and I are over here in Houston, TX at MD Anderson. This trip was intended to begin a 3 round process of chemo for this stubborn spirit of lymphoma that we are facing. Amy has been in the hospital since Wed. and will hopefully be released Sunday to come home for a few weeks. It has been a tough time here for my beloved bride but she is in good spirits and the peace of God is reigning over her heart and mind. I have been playing Scripture reading and worship over her almost nonstop while praying in the Spirit and singing songs of deliverance. I ain’t no rookie to this fight!
The doctors have given us a 6 month window for the completion of her treatments and even though in the natural that seems a reality we are trusting God for a miracle at ANY MOMENT! Please continue to stand with us in this battle. I leave you with a passage of encouragement that speaks of the final victory that WILL come in this situation and any that you may be facing in your life.
Josh. 21:43-45–So the Lord gave to Israel ALL the land He had sworn to give their ancestors, and they CONQUERED it and settled there. And the Lord gave them rest on every side, just as He had solemnly promised to their ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the Lord helped them to conquer ALL of their enemies. ALL OF THE GOOD PROMISES THAT THE LORD HAD GIVEN ISRAEL CAME TRUE! HALLELUJAH!!!
