Last night on the boat!

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

In case you didn’t know or weren’t there last night, Bishop TD Jakes was in the house at Bethany north and preached a potent word entitled, The last night on the boat. His message was taken from John 21 when Peter went back to fishing and Jesus came and ended his last fishing stint. His boat was his security blanket and God had to take him to a place where he was no longer dependant on what he knew in the past but what God was calling him to do in the present (feed my sheep).

The auditorium was packed to capacity and Bethany South had a thousand watching via fiber optic as the Spirit of God moved in a mighty way. A huge harvest of souls was brought into the nets to top the night off. This truly was a great success and all glory goes to God and great thanks to the Bishop for coming.

I believe a meeting like this can propel a ministry to the next level. If any meeting could do that then this one did for us! God used Bishop to speak directly to every heart and many people were weeping as his message concluded.

You may say, how can I hear the message? and the answer is you had to be there or you missed out! I am glad I was there and the Lord touched me and encouraged me with the word brought forth.

Rom. 1:11- For I long to visit you so I can share a spiritual blessing with you that will help you grow strong in the Lord. I’m eager to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. In this way, each of us will be a blessing to the other.

Taking a break

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

For all of you that have been praying for me over the last couple of months and are wondering what is up? I want to give you an update. Over the last 2 weeks I have met with a new group of surgeons 3x and done a variety of testing for them that has led us to the conclusion of letting my arm rest for at least a couple of months to allow things to settle down. (There is still some swelling and soreness from all the testing and surgery done in months past.) This, to me, is very good news! Anytime we can take a rest from cutting and prodding it is good news to me!

I just believe that that God is doing a real work of healing and the more time we have for this to manifest and come to fullness the better! The Lord has sent some real special men into my life to teach me many unknown things about healing. Jim Hockaday and Past. Buzzy are 2 great men of God with tremendous faith and revelation on the subject of physical healing. They have been mentoring me and building up my faith daily and weekly by phone. The confidence of faith that they have imparted is the key to my total healing and new season of the miraculous that will follow. Thank you for your prayers and support! I don’t know where I would be if not for the outpouring of love from my church family and the body of Christ at large.

Rom. 4:20-21– Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this brought glory to God. He was absolutely convinced that God was able to do ANYTHING HE PROMISED!

Divorce, for no reason?

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Last night mega-church pastors Randy and Paula White announced their divorce to a stunned Without Walls Thur. night service. They said that neither had been unfaithful but that they just could not work things out. I personally don’t know if I believe that but nonetheless it brings a strong prophetic point to me concerning the status of our nation.

We have divorced our God for seemingly no reason in this great nation of ours. The real issues lies not in the takeover of Islam or any other religion\lover but in the internal selfishness and self-seeking pride that has crept into the hearts of most in our great country. The Whites cited different paths and busy schedules as what provided the final blow to their already fragile marriage. This similarity also holds true as Americans have chosen a path of compromise and not holiness and thus distanced themselves from a holy God. Our schedules have gotten so busy we have no time to spend in the presence of an Almighty God and Savior who gave His all for us.

This morning I am grieved like never before at the state of our nation and, in particular, the church. After seeing the brutal beating of Prophetess Bynum by her husband Bishop Thomas Weeks, yes, her husband who is a bishop of some sorts. Our Charismatic leaders are falling like flies and the nation looks on with growing cynicsm. Oh God, how we need a revival of holiness and repentance starting with the preachers all the way to the heathen in the streets of this great nation. Oh, that God would shake us again and bring glorious awakening to this divorced nation.

Jer. 3:1- If a man divorces a woman and she marries someone else, he is not to take her back again, for that would surely corrupt the land. But you have prostituted yourself with many lovers, says the Lord. Yet I am still calling you to come back to me.

Perseverance

Last night we began our fall march through the book of Acts for the north campus. What a great time we had getting started! If you have not joined us for this time of worship and Word then you should come and check it out. Our chapter was Acts 14 and I ministered on the topic of the Spirit of Conquest. In this chapter we have the account of Paul being stoned in Lystra. And as if stoning weren’t bad enough, they then dragged him, yes DRAGGED him out of the city. If you really think about this situation it brings a pretty gruesome picture to mind. It doesn’t get much worse than stoning and dragging. That is where the Bible uses one of those all-important buts. It says, But as the believers stood around him, he got up and went back into the city. The same city he had just been stoned and dragged out of. This is absolutely incredible! That Paul’s desire and passion for souls was so great he could not be stopped by stoning or dragging.

This really spoke to me about the need to press on and persevere in my life NO MATTER WHAT! Nothing can stop us from fulfilling God’s mandate on our life but our own passivity and excuses. The enemy does not have the ultimate power to stop you from fulfilling the will of God. Can he delay? Yes! Can he distract? Yes! Can he make an illusion that seems all is over with? You better believe it! Can he stop you? NO WAY!

So I say to you today my friend to press on and persevere no matter the obstacle or dilemna facing you cause I guarantee you it is not as bad as what Paul faced there at Lystra!
