We all need the joy!

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

I have grown up my whole life hearing the words of Nehemiah that the “joy of the Lord is your strength”. This simple phrase is sometimes hard to truly comprehend until you are tested. I have seen that the greatest enemy of the Christian leader is discouragement. God commanded Joshua, Do not be discouraged. This means that it is choice! Nonetheless, discouragement happens when we lose our joy. Many times I have said that happiness is a temporary emotion while joy is (or should be) a permanent state established at the Cross. Unfortunately, many times we get our eyes on circumstances and lose sight of the joy of the Lord.

Tonight at 220 leadership there was an unusual outpouring of joy. Many times we have joy and laughter at these type of meetings but tonight was a refreshing joy from heaven. I believe that when you totally cross over into the realm of the spirit of God and leave all your cares behind God will pour out for you the joy of heaven. This is what happened tonight and it was heavenly! God’s Spirit was poured out until all who were thirsty were satisfied and even saturated to overflowing. In the place of such heavenly joy there is no room for discouragement, depression flees, and defeat is ridiculous. The victory of God seems forever eminent as the atmosphere of heaven descends.
In heaven there will be the fullness of joy. No weeping or sorrow, no sadness or regret as God’s will is manifested in perfection. This is the type of atmosphere we felt tonight. Oh, that we would worship Him in spirit and in truth each day until the joy and peace of heaven descends upon us. I tell you, when this happens you feel that you can face any giant!

The Call

Tom. Amy and I will be flying with Jonathan & Angie, Hank and Dad, as well as Past. Owen and Tammy McManus to Nashville by way of private jet. I have a treatment in the morning at 7:15 and then we fly out at 3 from BR. There is a meeting tom. night at 7 for everyone on the board to decide our agenda for Sat.

We begin Sat. at 10am and go to 10pm. A lot I know! We are expecting as many as 150,000 young people at Titan Stadium for a day of prayer and fasting. This will be a solemn assembly. Please be in prayer for me as i dont know yet what my role will be. I hear that i am going to preach but dont know that for sure. I do know that i will have some part in the program. Pray for strength in my body and in Amy’s. Pray for favor and divine connections with other revolutionaries. Pray for something to be triggered nationally that will rock our nation to its core. I will give a report probably Sat. or Sunday on how everything went. Sunday at Bethany North I will give a full report as well. Thanks for all your prayers.

Joel 2:12,13- That is why the Lord says, Turn to Me now, while there is time! Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief; instead, tear your hearts. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful. He is not easily angered. He is filled with kindness and is eager not to punish you.
