Reflections on Father’s Day

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Everyone has a father somewhere out there. Many do not know who he is or wish they wouldn’t have. I am so privileged on this Father’s day to reflect on the wonderful father that I have been blessed with. No one has impacted my life like he has. There is no telling where i would or wouldn’t be without him! In my study this week from 1 Tim. 1 I have seen 3 roles of the Father that were demonstrated by Paul to Timothy, his “true son”. The first quality is that of guidance in handling life’s tough delimnas and inevitable curve balls. The second is a true and loving father will always warn or correct his children. Finally, a father is one who has the wisdom and perspective to help direct the steps that we take in pursuing our destiny. These qualities were all shown to me in such a loving way from my father and really speak to all of us of the love we share from our heavenly Father. No matter what kind of father you had (or didn’t have) you should reflect on the love that God the Father had when He sent His only Son to die on the Cross for you and me. What a Father!!!John 3:16- For God the Father loved the world so much He gave His best gift Jesus, His only son, so that we might not perish in our sins but live with Him eternally.
Matt. 7:11- If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him!
