Your Prayers Needed

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Dear intercessor, please be lifting up Amy and I as we travel to Palm Beach, Fla. for a week of tests and procedures related to my health. We will be flying out Sunday night (June 3) and beginning tests on Monday morning at 8. We are unsure at this time of our return but know that God is in control and will bring us through this fiery trial with His marvelous grace and miraculous power. Thank you for all your prayers and support!

Last of a Breed?

This past Thur. and Fri. Pastor Bill Wilson from Metro Min. in NY City was with us ministering to the interns and 220 leadership. What an awesome time we had! The thing that struck me the most about Past. Bill is that he is an apostle of the “old school”. No more do we have seasoned men of God like him who have been through hell and high water to forge the Gospel in the darkest of areas. Past. BIll has been shot in the head, hit with a brick, thrown off of a 4 story building, been in fights of all kinds, faced disease and pain in his body, and yet has the love of God flowing through him as if it were Jesus Himself looking through those fiery eyes. I know this list of things sounds like 2 Cor. 11 & 12 but that is exactly the point. God has raised him up as a sign and testament to us of a new generation that the apostles of old have not passed away. Will we succumb to the weak, comfortable standard of American Christianity or will we take a hint from this man of God and go for all God has for us. Will we be content to excel in comparison with those around us or will we take a chapter from the NT and live to match and supercede the faith and perseverance of the apostles of old? Only you can answer that question for yourself. In comtemplating this question I leave you today with a simple and yet profound answer from the living Word of God found in Heb. 13:8- Jesus Christ IS the SAME yesterday, TODAY, and forever!
